GL Ambassador Danell Lynn Article in OutdoorX4

By | Adventure Touring, bike packing, Blog, Camping, Dry Bags, Events, Giant Loop Gear, News, Overland, Panniers, Reviews, Riders, Straps, Tank Bags, Tech Tips, travel, Triumph

Keep an eye out for this beautiful adventure travel article by Guinness World Record holder and Giant Loop Ambassador Danell Lynn in Issue 36 of OutdoorX4. Written and photographed by Danell, “Colonial Mexico” recounts her travels on her trusty Triumph Bonneville “Amelia”…

Danell rides with Siskiyou Panniers, Fandango Tank Bag and Rogue Dry Bag on this journey, keeping it a little lighter these days than her world record setting ride of all 50 states in a single year — “Longest journey by motorcycle in a single country” — she is the first solo woman motorcyclist to hold the record.

“Giant Loop was my first and only bag choice as the ride began its planning. I am so pleased with it. The ease of use, and complete dryness of my gear through downpours, will keep me coming back to Giant Loop.” — Danell Lynn

We are proud to play a role in Danell’s incredible travels. She puts GL products to a degree of testing that would take most riders many years to equal. Her spirit matches our mission as a brand and company. Cheers, Danell!

Thank you RoadRUNNER Motorcycle, Touring, and Travel for reviewing our MotoTrekk Panniers in the July/August issue

RoadRUNNER Reviews GL’s MotoTrekk Panniers

“I’m very happy with the solution and highly recommend it to any adventure rider who goes off-road, but in fact it has a lot of value for road touring due to its low weight and narrow profile.” — Yuval Naveh

Gearing-up a Husqvarna in Kentucky

These excellent photos sent to GL from our friend Andy. He’s got it all on his Husqvarna 250! MoJavi Saddlebags, Possibles Pouch, Pronghorn Straps and Zigzag Handlebar Bag

“I’m super glad I brought all that, because about 70 miles in to the first day and the farthest point from our cabin we got a flat. Luckily I had a tube and tools in the MoJavi Saddlebags, a patch kit and pump in my Possibles Pouch. So I was able to swap the tube and we were on our way. The MoJavi Saddlebags were super secure even on some enduro type stepped ledges. They didn’t get in my way at all and held secure where I mounted them. Super convenient and stable. Thank you!” — Andy Janik, Sullivan Tool and Repair

The Ultimate Loop on a KTM 500 EXC-F

By | Adventure Touring, bike packing, Blog, Camping, Dry Bags, Giant Loop Gear, KTM, Overland, Photos, Reviews, Riders, Saddlebags, Tech Tips, trail bike, travel

Rider Aaron Steinmann spent three years biking around the world with GL gear on a KTM 500 EXC-F. One of our favorite websites Enduro 21 posted a great article about Aaron’s amazing journey…

“Pack light and keep it narrow to get through doorways. Doing a trip like this on a smaller bike means you have to think a bit more about the gear you are going to carry. I used the Giant Loop Coyote Saddleag to carry my gear in and one Tillamook Dry Bag. The Coyote Saddlebag has three dry bags inside. One had my tools, tubes, filters etc. Another had my cooking equipment and the third my minimal amount of clothing. In the top bag I had my tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, shoes and a few other things. I have two pouches also made by Giant Loop attached to the Coyote Saddlebag and they are a perfect size to fit the Motorex one-litre oil bottles. I also kept a few tools in there so I could tighten my chain or the odd bolt if it came loose without having to dig into my main bag.”Enduro 21

“Match your luggage to your bike. When I rode the Trans Lab, I was on a small-capacity Yamaha WR250R and didn’t want the added weight of heavy panniers. Running Over Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladder With Truck

By | 4x4, Adventure Touring, ATV, FAQ, Fuel, Giant Loop Gear, Overland, Racer, Side By Side, Snow, Snow Bike, Snowmobile, SxS, Tech Tips, travel, UTV, Video

Today, we answer the question: Can you run over the Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladder with a truck without causing leaks or damage?

Can you do this with your plastic gas can? People ask if Giant Loop’s Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladder is tough, so we put the 5-gallon Gas Bag to the test by running over it repeatedly with a Nissan Titan half ton pick-up truck. Not only did it not pop or leak, it barely left a mark, even when the truck tire pushes it and makes it roll on the asphalt parking lot.

NEW Tracker Packer™ Ruggedized Holsters Secure Garmin inReach Mini and SPOT Gen3 Emergency Beacon to User for Maximum Backcountry Safety

By | 4x4, Adventure Touring, ATV, bike packing, Camping, FAQ, Fitment, Giant Loop Gear, holiday gifts for motorcyclists, New Product, Overland, paddlesports, Racer, Side By Side, Snow, Snow Bike, Snowmobile, stocking stuffers, SxS, Tech Tips, travel, under $60, UTV

Adventure gear innovator Giant Loop just released a major update of its Tracker Packer™ line of ruggedized holsters for GPS-enabled emergency beacons/communicators. Two new models, compatible with SPOT Gen3 and with Garmin inReach Mini, feature redundant anchor straps, quick-adjusting accessory arm bands, unobstructed view of and access to all controls and an included redundant tether adding yet another layer of security.

Tracker Packers enable backcountry adventurers who travel beyond cell phone range to stay safer during all of their outdoor adventures — motorcycling, snowmobiling, snow biking, backpacking, climbing, mountain biking, boating, skiing/snowboarding — with help the push of a button away. Following best safety practices, the Tracker Packer firmly attaches the emergency device to the user’s backpack shoulder strap, upper arm or lower leg, reducing the risk of the device separating from the user or not being within reach and in plain sight when need arises.

The Gear Institute recently wrote in a test review that “Giant Loop’s Tracker Packer addresses a real need for those of us who routinely escape the bonds of cell towers, extending the usability of potentially lifesaving technology even in dire situations. Best of all, the Tracker Packer keeps the satellite messenger within easy reach – and quickly accessible – should an emergency arise. After all, isn’t that when you absolutely need the messenger the most?”

Featuring redundant closures, multiple connections, and tether points, the compact and lightweight Tracker Packer is designed to remain secure, even in the roughest, most extreme conditions. By keeping the device in a visible, easy-to-access location, anyone on scene in the event of an emergency can quickly deploy the device’s SOS signal sending the GPS location to an international emergency response coordination center.

Tracker Packers for Garmin inReach Mini and SPOT Gen3 are not just for emergencies. When traveling beyond cell service, backcountry travelers can communicate via satellite text messages, sent and received directly from the Garmin inReach Mini. OK and other pre-programmed messaged can be sent from the SPOT Gen3.

Giant Loop donates a portion of all Tracker Packer sales to the nonprofit Kurt Caselli Foundation, which focuses on the safety of riders and racers in the off-road motorcycling industry. Giant Loop worked with US off-road motorcycle racing legend Quinn Cody to test and develop the Tracker Packer holsters.

Tracker Packer features include a high-visibility tag imprinted with “SOS,” elastic antennae anchor (Garmin only), screen prints of the Kurt Caselli Foundation’s “Caselli 66” logo and Giant Loop’s GL logo, a redundant double hook-and-loop attachment system, a heavy duty hook-and-loop extension band for wearing on the upper arm or lower leg above the boot, grippy backing, foam padding to absorb shock and vibration and a redundant tether cord for additional security.

Constructed with military-specification components and materials, the Tracker Packer for Garmin inReach Mini and Tracker Packer for SPOT Gen3 are backed by Giant Loop’s limited lifetime warranty. USA MSRP is $39. The Tracker Packer is available bundled with the Garmin inReach Mini or SPOT Gen3 exclusively at Giant Loop’s GL Adventure Shop warehouse showroom in Bend, Oregon, and at www.giantloopmoto.com. Clean Drink Adventures: Safe Drinking Water Solutions for Nepal, Delivered on Royal Enfield Himalayan

By | Adventure Touring, Blog, Camping, Fitment, Giant Loop Gear, Overland, Photos, Reviews, Riders, Royal Enfield, Saddlebags, Tank Bags, travel, Uncategorized

See links below to volunteer for Clean Drink Adventures trips in Spring 2019!

Clean Drink Adventures

“Packing up our tents, the women of the community thanked us for coming, sharing in a night of good fun, and for the gift of the MSR SE200 Community Chlorine Maker. And that’s how it always should be. It’s not uncommon for some organizations to enter a village and foist their aid on unsuspecting locals. We offered the water system to the villagers and they eagerly accepted. They gained a useful tool and we received a wonderful night of hospitality we won’t soon forget.”

Hello Giant Loop,

We’re back from our trip to Nepal and happy to report it was a huge success. Our Clean Drink Adventures team was able to provide safe drinking water solutions to as many as 700 people during our travels. In the coming weeks our volunteers on the ground will bump that number closer to 2,000 in the coming weeks.

As we traveled into the remote corners of the country, our medic, Jason McKinney, packed all of his medical equipment in Giant Loop bags. Not only did he keep us safe, but he was available to help anyone in need during out travels.

Below are some fun images and snippits you can use for social media. In the meantime I’m working on gathering more assets you can use for promotions.

The bags are currently in our office in Nepal and ready to do it all again. We have more trips planned for March, April, and May. The GL bags will be put to use every time.

Thank you so much for sending them along and we’re stoked to have GL as a CLEAN DRINK partner.

Safe travels,
Christophe

Doing good as you go doesn't always go as planned. While delivering safe drinking water solutions to remote communities in Nepal, our team medic Jason McKinny hit a slight rough patch. CLEAN DRINK ADVENTURES is a proud partner with Giant Loop. We use our bags to carry medical supplies and essentials to ensure our team is safe and our Nepali friends well cared for. You can join Giant Loop and CLEAN DRINK on the adventure of a lifetime. Spots are open for trips in the spring of 2019.

Giant Loop 3- and 5-Gallon Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladders

5 gallon Fuel Safe Gas Bags with a Polaris side by side

5 gallon Fuel Safe Gas Bags with a Polaris side by side

Giant Loop has added new 3- and 5-gallon Gas Bag™ Fuel Safe Bladders to its award-wining fuel solutions. Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladders conveniently transport hydrocarbon fuel for power sports racing in a collapsible welded film and ballistic nylon reinforced container that rolls up or packs flat when empty. Weighing a fraction of rigid tanks and canisters and less costly than racing fuel cells, Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladders are also available in 1- and 2-gallon models.

The new larger 3-gallon (11.4 liters) and 5-gallon (18.9 liters) Gas Bags are designed specifically for UTVs, ATVs, snowmobiles, snow bikes (e.g., Timbersled, Camso), 4x4s and overland vehicles, providing a lightweight, compact means of transporting gas for off-road racing on closed courses, as well as for international travel.

In 2016, Giant Loop’s original 1-gallon Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladder won a Powersports Business “Nifty 50” award for top new products.

Each Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladder is individually pressure tested and made in USA by Fuel Safe®, a leading racing fuel containment manufacturer based in Redmond, Oregon.

NOTE: Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladders are intended only for the temporary transport of liquid hydrocarbons for racing vehicles used in professional off road and closed course competition racing events. The Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladder is NOT a portable or long-term fuel storage container as described by ASTM, EPA, ARB or other state or federal agencies.

Flat and unfilled, the 3-Gallon Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladder measures 22″ long by 14″ wide. Three heavy-duty webbing and molded rubber handles provide tie-downs and facilitate fuel handling. The 5-gallon Gas Bag Fuel Safe Bladder measures 29” long by 14” wide, with four heavy-duty handles.

All models of Gas Bags feature two rows of webbing daisy chain loops that prevent the Gas Bag from sliding out from under tie-down straps (not included). Filler necks are standard size, fitting “universal” spouts, such as the EZ-Pour (also available from Giant Loop). Available exclusively from Giant Loop and authorized dealers, USA MSRP is $239.99 for the 3-gallon Gas Bag (GL part FSB18-G3) and $299.99 for the 5-gallon Gas Bag (GL part FSB18-G5).
