https://www.motorcycleshows.ca/ Year-in and Year-out, Canada is our fastest growing market in the world. Giant Loop is making a short drive across the border with product and bikes to display at the Vancouver Motorcycle Show on January 18th-20th. You will find us in Booth 132 directly through the main entrance and across from Honda. Our booth may be small but it will be mighty! We will be teaching Giant Loop 101 all weekend and will have product available for sale. Stop by and talk to the one and only Harold of Giant Loop and Celebrate 10 years with us.
2018 recap of Giant Loop’s export business. New importers in Netherlands, Argentina, South Korea, Brazil, China (yes, we are shipping American-made products to China!), Norway, Belgium and Mongolia. Plus, the countries where we already had established importers: Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, India, Indonesia, Sweden, Laos, Poland, Italy, New Zealand, Colombia, Kenya, Japan, Denmark, Spain, Malaysia and Finland.
These companies seek us out. Not too shabby for a tiny company from Bend, Oregon USA! Our friend Austin Vince once told us that “if you’re famous outside your own country, then you’re doing something right.”
Here’s to the next Decade of Adventure at Giant Loop!
See links below to volunteer for Clean Drink Adventures trips in Spring 2019!
Hello Giant Loop,
We’re back from our trip to Nepal and happy to report it was a huge success. Our Clean Drink Adventures team was able to provide safe drinking water solutions to as many as 700 people during our travels. In the coming weeks our volunteers on the ground will bump that number closer to 2,000 in the coming weeks.
As we traveled into the remote corners of the country, our medic, Jason McKinney, packed all of his medical equipment in Giant Loop bags. Not only did he keep us safe, but he was available to help anyone in need during out travels.
Below are some fun images and snippits you can use for social media. In the meantime I’m working on gathering more assets you can use for promotions.
The bags are currently in our office in Nepal and ready to do it all again. We have more trips planned for March, April, and May. The GL bags will be put to use every time.
Thank you so much for sending them along and we’re stoked to have GL as a CLEAN DRINK partner.
Giant Loop Self Distributes in Canada
Adventure Proof Packing Systems and Gear Innovator Seeks Canadian Dealers
(BEND, OREGON USA) After nearly a decade of steady, incremental sales growth in Canada, Giant Loop has announced that the company will self-distribute in the Canadian powersports market. Giant Loop will service Canadian motorcycle, snowmobile, snow bike, side-by-side and ATV dealers directly from its warehouse and headquarters in Bend, Oregon USA. Currently, more than 20 Canadian dealers in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario import Giant Loop products for their retail customers. In 2019, Giant Loop plans to target the Canadian powersports market by exhibiting at select motorcycle shows and events as part of a comprehensive marketing strategy intended to aggressively expand business in this key North American market.
“Since launching in 2008, we have viewed Giant Loop as an international business, and Canada has consistently been among our top export markets,” says Harold Olaf Cecil, Giant Loop’s owner and founder. “By working directly with Canadian dealers we can reduce the landed cost of our products there, helping to compensate for the currency exchange rate difference between our dollars, as well as for the taxes and international shipping expenses.”
Giant Loop invites Canadian dealers to contact them for a dealer application, special Canadian dealer pricing and other details to get set up as an authorized Giant Loop dealer. Contact Giant Loop sales at +1 458-206-9113.
Giant Loop’s adventure proof motorcycle, snowmobile, snow bike, ATV, UTV, side-by-side, 4×4 and outdoor packing and gear systems are available from select powersports dealers in the USA and Canada, and via Tucker Rocky Distributing and Western Power Sports in the USA, as well as from international distributors around the world. All models of Gas Bags feature two rows of webbing daisy chain loops that prevent the Gas Bag from sliding out from under tie-down straps (not included). Giant Loop Pronghorn Straps Will Hold Your Chainsaw
Rider Chris Miksovsky of Humangear sent us these great shots of his 2015 KTM 350 EXCF with our Mojavi Saddlebags and Diablo Tank Bag. Chris also creatively uses the Pronghorn Straps to secure his chainsaw when doing trail maintenance – a testament to how much those straps can handle! Available in 5 lengths and two widths, the Pronghorn Straps are an item that we should all have tucked in a bag on our bikes. The strong and super-stretchy polyurethane straps can be used to secure all manner of items to motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs and Snowmobiles.
Here is a great review video of the Giant Loop Coyote Saddlebag Roll top by Rocky Mountain ATV. They cover all the unique features of our mid sized saddlebag and explain how to install the Coyote on your motorcycle.
The Coyote Saddlebag Roll Top, a fresh update of our original flagship horseshoe-shaped dual sport and enduro rackless Giant Loop Saddlebag design that launched our company in 2008. The Coyote features a convenient rolling closure that seals out water and dust while maintaining the packable volume and all the unique “go light, go fast, go far” features of our zipper closure Coyote Saddlebag. Other enhancements include sewn-on molded rubber badges, Giant Loop branded grab handles that double as side compression straps and a set of 3 RF welded waterproof inner liner Saddlebag Dry Pods with air purge valves.
BMW 1200GS and the Kiger Tank Bag
Sometimes when you have a big bike, you want a big tank bag. The Kiger Tank Bag is the largest in Giant Loop collection. At 9 litres capacity this bag is 100% waterproof and has a sturdy clamshell closure design that makes it easy to get in and out of with gloves on.
Shown here in photos courtesy of the BMW Club Motorcycle Owners of America.
As you can see the bag fits nicely over the large front fairing of the BMW R1200GS, attaching to the frame under the seat. The Kiger measures 8.25 X 12″, giving ample room yet not obstructing the riders view of the odometer or GPS.
The Kiger Tank Bag can also be paired with Pannier Pockets for added front-of-bike capacity.

At Giant Loop we pride ourselves in knowing that our gear is getting put through the paces daily–in all sorts of weather conditions, around the world. Wolfgang, a Giant Loop rider from Austria sent us these great shots of his ride in Italy with friends on their KTMs. Their bikes were outfittted for light, fast day tripping and the Mojavi Saddlebags suited their needs perfectly.
Looks as though Europe is getting an early winter as well!
First of all thank you for your cooperation. We were very happy about it!
–how important the Giant Loops are for us. This was now two weeks ago, where we climbed in the Italian region Piemont, using partially old military-roads and also “no ways”, up to a height over 3.200 meters!
Harold, whether it is sunshine, rain or snow, you “never walk alone” with the GLs.In the indoor area always dry as well as at minus degrees, the zipper can open loosely! In this sense a beautiful working week, warm greetings from the foggy Austria!
Thanks for riding with Giant Loop Wolfgang! Go light. Go fast. Go Far!
Here is a cool little video put out by the Motorcycle Superstore. They cover our larger packing system items including our various rackless saddlebags and the Siskiyou Panniers – the video was launched before the addition of our Round the World Panniers, which are now our largest carrying capacity set up. It’s a great way to get scale on the different capacities of our bags.
Go light. Go fast. Go Far!
Fall riding has begun! It’s time to dig out the thermal underwear, find your neck warmer and make sure your hand warmers are still functional.
One of Giant Loop’s favorite and most popular pieces of winter gear is the Giant Loop Bushwacker Hand Guards. Lightweight and simple, these pair with your rigid hand guards for the ultimate protection against the elements. Ride safer and longer with warm, dry and clean hands and controls, plus gain extra protection from trail brush. These are essential fall and winter gear for motorcycles, snow bikes and snowmobiles.
Our friends are Motorcycle Superstore made this great review video of the Buchwacker Hand Guards.
Go light. Go Fast. Go Far. Stay Warm!
Nick, a sponsored rider in Australia and owner of Maschine Rides and Tours in Gisborne, Australia sent our Australian counterpart, Adventure Moto Australia this great pic of his KTM 1090 Adventure R kitted out with Mojavi Saddlebags and a Fandango Tank Bag Pro.
“Thanks very much for the hookup with the Giant Loop gear. It’s all working very nicely! We are 3 days in and we’ve got a pro photographer on the trip that got some amazing shots yesterday.”
The Honda Africa Twin and Giant Loop Mototrekk Panniers
Jeff, from Tucker Rocky recently sent us some photos of his set up on his Honda Africa Twin. He used Givi Quick release side racks (Tucker Rocky and Givi Part #PLR1144) for mounting, looping the quick release loops of the Giant Loop Mototrekk Panniers around the 4 corners to secure.
The bags mount securely with no movement and still leave a ton of space on top of the bike for a dry bag or top case.
Jeff also uses a Fandango Tank Bag Pro on his Twin. The medium sized tank bag is 8L in capacity, waterproof and attaches securely to the bike with a harness. Two sturdy side zippers make it easy to access the fuel fill or remove the bag entirely for security.
Mojavi Saddlebag and Klamath Tail Rack Pack Featured In Favorite Rides Magazine
The Giant Loop Mojavi Saddlebag and Klamath Tail Rack Pack are featured in the fall issue of Favorite Rides and Destinations Magazine. The quarterly e-zine showcases incredible riding destinations around the world and highlights new and noteworthy products.

Waterproof zippers seal the pockets and everything is held firmly in place with outer cinch straps. Into the Klamath’s zipperless, nested clamshell bag (its lid is secured with adjustable quick-release straps) go items I need quick access to, such as a hat, sunblock, snacks and an extra base layer. Inside the Klamath is a zippered mesh pocket, a removable, adjustable divider and a removable, waterproof Dry Pod bag, and on top is bungee netting that’s perfect for stashing a rain jacket.”

Product of the Week – The Great Basin Saddlebag
A trusted staple in the Giant Loop line up, the Great Basin Saddlebag is the largest in our “loop bag” collection.
We have outfitted an assortment of motorcycles with the Great Basin, and it’s currently on the backs of motorcycles around the globe. In the montage above you’ll find the Great Basin Saddlebag easily mounted on a the Honda CRF250L, Rally Raid CB500X, and Africa Twin, the KTM 1190 Adventure R, the Yamaha WR250, the KLR 650 retrofitted with a sidecar, the Suzuki tu250x, a Yamaha R6 and something random in Nepal….just to name a few.
This bag will carry all that you require for a serious expedition or comfortably carry your weekend provisions.
What we love most about the Great Basin Saddlebag is it’s verstility. This bag, rides rackless, behind the rider where the passenger would sit. The “legs” of the bag affix to the passenger foot pegs or other solid mounting point in the same area and anchors at the rear of the bike via three straps on on an existing rear rack or integrated mounting point. The is bag is 68L in capacity and is sold with three waterproof dry pods which organize gear within the bag plus make it easy to haul things to your camp spot without removing the whole loop bag. A Hot Springs Heat Shield is also included with every bag to keep the Great Basin off the pipe.
The outer material is constructed of tough 22 oz. vinyl coated polyester reinforced with ballistic nylon and, like many of our bags the Great Basin has loops added to the sides of the bag that make it easy to add Possibles Pouches or just affix items with Pronghorn Straps. The “beavertail” cinch straps can be extend to allow for a Tillamook or Rogue Dry Bag if extra capacity is required.

Round the World Panniers on a (super-sweet) KTM 990
Photos by Jaume von Arend
He continues to use a Coyote Saddlebag on his WR but has swapped out the saddlebag for our RTW panniers on the 990, now outfitted with SW-Motech racks, for longer trips. He’ll now be able to add a dry bag in place of the Klamath Tail Rack Pack if he needs to further increase volume.
To see the entire article…and to brush up on your Spanish head to Juame’s website, www.traildreamer.com. The Google translate leaves a little to the imagination but you’ll get the gist.
At Giant Loop Moto we are constantly getting asked all kinds of great questions on luggage set ups and how to pick the right gear.
Everyone eventually develops their own personal packing system and camping style, but until then it’s hard to know where to start.
You have to ask yourself, what is my ultimate goal? Am I going to be a day tripper? A weekend warrior? A long distance traveller? Live on the bike? Will I always be camping or find hotels along the way? Some of you will do both day missions and longer trips and you’ll need different set ups for each application —no one needs a Great Basin Saddlebag for a day trip (unless it’s to the grocery store), nor do you want to be deciding whether or not you can cram in that pair of flip flops for the week long mission exploring the Oregon coast (trust us, don’t be a hero, take the flip flops) Even further, you may have more than one motorcycle (you’re one of those aren’t you?) which each require completely different systems.
We have developed some handy tools to give you an overview of all Giant Loop has to offer.
One is a Giant Loop Product Chart with sizes, capacities and weights and the second a packing systems diagram to illustrate how our products fit on dual-sport, enduro and adventure touring set ups – both courtesy of the uber-talented Moser Graphics.

Giant Loop Coyote Saddle Bag and Fandango Tank Bag at the Dakota 600
ADV Moto Events did a great write up on the Dakota 600 which finished up in late July. Event Organizer, Bill Hearne used our Coyote Saddlebags and Fandango Tank Bag on his Husqvarna 701 during the 4 day ride.
The Dakota 600 is an annual event in Western South Dakota that raises money to support trail development in the Black Hills and mountain areas of the National Forest System.
“–the Dakota 600, which wrapped up on July 20, 2017, offers a mix of challenging single track, two-track trails, gravel roads and twisty pavement through some of the most stunning yet accessible mountain scenery in the country. And it offers riders a way to help add to the number of trails available in the Black Hills in the future.”
Our Siskiyou Panniers performed well in adverse conditions in the Hebrides.
“Very happy with my new panniers on first trip to isle of South Uist in the Hebrides.
5 hours ride there in a monsoon and five hours back even wetter.
Panniers fitted perfectly with 2 pronghorn straps and 2 heatshields, and never moved an inch.
Tent and sleeping bag kept bone dry.
Worth the money and the four week wait.”
— Iain from Glasgow Scotland
Named for southern Oregon’s and northern California’s rugged and beautiful mountain range, Giant Loop’s Siskiyou Panniers combine the convenience of hard panniers with all of Giant Loop’s performance advantages. Rugged, rackless, lightweight and stable. Secures to passenger footrest mounts and rides on rear rack and/or pillion seat. Flexible internal framesheet conforms to array of racks and motorcycle makes/models. Cross-over wings create luggage platform for Dry Bags and gear, add stability and protect seat. Mounts/dismounts in minutes.
The Giant Loop Siskiyou Panniers were recently in a featured review on ADV Pulse.
“These ‘soft’ side bags are designed to offer the convenience and capacity (70 liters total) of hard panniers but with the rugged durability we’ve come to expect from the pioneering soft luggage company.”

ADV Pulse put together an excellent, comprehensive overview of the bags and their fitment on four separate motorcycles; the BMW R1200GS Adventure (with racks), KTM 1290 Super Adventure (no racks), KTM 990 Adventure R (with racks) and Suzuki V-Strom 1000XT (no racks).
“What we liked:
Large capacity bags with no racks required.
External pockets are nice for things you need quick access to.
Freedom of movement for aggressive off-road riding”
“One advantage of riding off-road with the Siskiyou Panniers is that they are large enough that you can often forgo a top bag on shorter trips.
In this configuration, you can position your body far back on the bike when you encounter difficult off-road terrain.”
ADV Pulse also noted that the Pronghorn straps are great, super-secure way to attach the bags to the bike

Doubletake Adventure, Enduro and Trail Mirrors.
Doubletake Mirrors were borne from necessity. The company’s owner recognized a need for a mirror that would work as well as an OEM mirror to actually see the road behind you, a mirror that would be indestructible–giving way during a crash so as not to damage itself or the bike, and a mirror that folds out of the way completely so that when you’re offroad you don’t have to worry about it.
Here at Giant Loop we chose these mirrors because they’re the best thing we’ve found that is super-light and durable which fits well with how we like to travel.
Adventure or Enduro?
If you plan to fold the mirror down a large percentage of the time, the Enduro is right for you. The long size means the head of the mirror tucks away right behind the headlight. If the mirror will remain extended much of the time, get the Adventure- the more compact design is more stable at highway speeds.
Doubletake Mirrors are sold in sets:
- 2 triangular shaped mirrors
- 2, 6″ RAM Mounts attachment arms
- 2, ball stud adapters (regular or BMW )
- 2 round shaped mirrors
- 2, 3″ RAM Mounts attachment arms
- 2, ball stud adapters (regular or BMW )
If you’re looking for something smaller the Doubletake Trail Mirror is a super-light, off-road option. This mirror can also be used for mountain or road bicycles.
Customer Doug just rode his new a Kawasaki Versys 300 from Virginia to Oregon, and he’s so pleased with his Giant Loop packing system that he stopped by the GL ADV Shop in Bend this morning to show us his setup!
His entire trip has been on pavement, so he created a simple quick-release rear anchor strap to mount the Coyote Saddlebag in front of his top box. Secured to the Coyote Saddlebag with the compression straps, he’s added a Rogue Dry Bag. And the slim Diablo Pro Tank Bag is perfectly proportioned for this small but capable machine.
Thanks Doug for choosing Giant Loop for your coast-to-coast adventure!
At 39L, the saddlebag fits perfectly behind the rider with room to spare for a dry bag or duffle to supplement bigger trips. Even with the passenger footpegs removed, the lower anchor points on the bag fasten nicely to the frame to keep the bag out of the way with zero movement. The shape of the Coyote lends itself well to this bike, as it angles forward instead of down thus avoiding the wide pipe.
Conveniently the Coyote fender hooks fit perfectly and positively in the Twin’s existing hard luggage mounting points.
The Giant Loop Fandango is also a great fit on this bike, sculpting well over the tank. East to access the fuel fill and see the dash instruments.
Nate is about to head out on the Washington BDR. We thing this is a great set up for his trip!
Giant Loop Pronghorn Strap Review in ADV Moto Magazine
“Giant Loop’s Pronghorn Straps offer an alternative [strap] solution: stretchy, water/weatherproof, almost indestructible belts. They come in five sizes, and they’re handy for reliably lashing down all
kinds of items.”
Giant Loop carries Pronghorn Straps in 5 different lengths and 2 widths. Constructed of stretchy polyurethane and extra durable fasteners, they instill complete confidence with the solid purchase they have on your gear. The smaller width straps fit perfectly through the daisy chain loops on a variety of our products including Possibles Pouches, Siskiyou Panniers and Mojave Saddlebags. The large sizes are great for the Revelstoke Tunnel Bags and other waterproof dry bags in our line. These straps are something should live in your tank bag for emergency gear storage or replacement straps.
