Specs & Features

• Weight: 6 lbs with all included components

• Dimensions (fully packed):

56″ – bottom of pannier, across top to bottom of other pannier bucket
Basically the same as before, with a little more “doming” on top due to increased “front to back” distance.

10″ – height of bag in top center
Again, the difference here is mostly a result of the “front to back” measurement below allowing the top to arc more when stuffed full.

6″ – distance from inside to outside of pannier bucket bottom
This dimension didn’t change – I think this is simply a more accurate measurement taken at very bottom of the “leg.”

14″ – front to back in top center
This is where/why we picked up an additional 10 liters of volume (60 vs. 50), by adding nearly 2″ in this plane. No change in the way the bag mounts or rides, just a bit roomier for sleeping bags and other lightweight, bulky gear in the top.

Simple, durable and versatile are words that come to mind to describe the latest edition of the GB bag. This is a huge improvement over the previous bag. It’s now waterproof, has security options and best of all the ability to additional bags, pouches to the legs. Also the beaver tail is a nice place to store wet gear like a tent rain fly. I’ve tried a lot of different soft bags and came back to where I started. Giant Loop rocks.

I picked up a Great Basin from my dealer when I snagged a KTM 1190 Adv R this last winter. I finally got to go on a decent trip where myself and four others packed up all our gear and headed north! On the R, you have to remove the pillion handles to make the GB fit very snug. Knowing that we were headed into some sandy single-track, I want my gear as compact as possible. The GB worked like a champ! It held to the bike after multiple spills in the woods and kept all my gear sand free. Later not he trip it proved to hold up awesome to all the elements as we tackled rain further on down the road. I love this luggage and will not being going back to heavy, cumbersome, aluminum panniers anytime soon.

Amazing bag, the materials are superb and the design is a great marriage of simplicity, toughness, quality and aesthetics. I am looking forward to many miles ahead with this bag. I recommend it. The value is high, particularly given the savings in pannier racks, etc. Very grateful for this product and for the customer service.
